Family Adventure day

With Mom and Dad in town more often we can actually spend more time doing fun things rather than forcing dad to fix everything that needs fixing. There was so much snow when they were here last that we took the sled and headed to the neighbors iced over driveway. Frankie did great for her first time sledding, she didn't smile...but she didn't cry either.

And the person who had the best time....GG!!!

And then off for some snow shoeing with Mom and Dad while everyone else went back for a nap. There are such amazing views from the top of our trail. We didn't go too far, but it really is an amazing workout

Little Snow Monkey

She stole my heart the day I met her and she makes the world seem right when all else is wrong. I love my little Nugget!!! More pictures to come from our sledding adventure with GG and Grandpa

Cleanse Complete!

Well I survived! Made it 3 days on juice (and a little avocado...which they say is OK!). I was never hungry but I love food so I really missed eating. Food that normally doesn't smell good to me, made my mouth water.
Here is my breakdown: Glow was decent. Easy enough to drink and a refreshing way to start the morning. Fuel is definitely carrot-y but I enjoyed it as well. Purify was my least favorite. I am not a fan of beets and that was all I could taste...yuck! Fiji has a very strong ginger taste. I like ginger so I did not mind, but i also had to sip it slow. Green Supreme tastes awesome after the first 4, I could chug that in seconds if I wasn't so full of liquid all ready. And the Vanilla Cloud (or whatever it is called) is a yummy dessert after all the leafy greeny stuff you drink all day.
I do wish they were more like a smoothie or Odwalla juice with pulp, might make me feel like i was eating, but they really are just juice. Make sure to shake before every sip...the juice separates quick! I lost a few lbs, granted you pee 100 times a day so it could just be water weight, but its a good way to kick off a clean eating habit. Today is my first day off and I am having a smoothie for breakfast (jamba's orange carrot karma) and weight watchers veggie soup for lunch (they recommend easing back into regular food to help your body get use to digesting again.) I didn't really do the clean eating before like the tell you to, so maybe I would've had better results and not such a strong desire to eat.

PS I adore you is having a give away. If you wanna give the Suja Juice cleanse a try but don't wanna fork over the cash

Suja Juice

All my friends have been posting pics on their instagram of Suja Juice and claiming it is so good and they feel so great...blah blah blah. So I gave in and am giving it a try.
Suja claims it  "increases energy and stamina, increases mental clarity, better sleep, healthier hair and nails, and often people are in a better mood". Increased energy and better sleep sound great to me!

I am doing the 3 day cleanse and am only on juice 1 of 6 for the day. I have a feeling I'm going to be tired of juice by the end of this.

Les Miserables

I have already seen the movie twice and still have not had enough. I think I became obsessed with the music when I was about 8 years old, even before I saw it in San Francisco. It is always a challenge to not sing outloud when I see it, so if you are with me and any of the music comes on, be warned! Even the oscar performance brought me to tears. AMAZING! If you missed it, havent seen the movie, or love Les Mis as much as I do, here is the clip from the Oscars. If you hate it or barely tolerate it, lets make it easy on each other and not be friends!

Paleo

Here I go again with a new "diet". Actually, I don't even think of this as a diet, just trying to eat clean. I have been doing a lot of research and been trying to eat foods that are healthy and that I make myself so I know what is in each dish. Paleo is perfect (a bit expensive) to get me started. I am not going to follow it exactly and will probably have more cheat meals than I should but at least its a step in the right direction. I have already started making some of the recipes I have found (Thanks Pinterest!) and they are SOOOO yummy. I am in love with Paleo orange chicken and lettuce wraps. I have a ton more to try this weekend. Since it is only me I am cooking for I can freeze some and also take some to work for a healthy lunch. It keeps me full and I don't snack as often, when I do snack it is almost always on carrots and hummus (which is technically not Paleo but still healthy, right?) or my homemade trail mix. I am not a fan of nuts so sunflower seeds make up the majority of it.
I have taken before pictures and my measurements, maybe if i really get into it and succeed I will post the before and after shots. My goal is to be healthy and fit by June. I am happy with my weight (well sorta, is anyone ever really happy with the number on the scale?!) but want to feel confident come summer time.
I also got a juicer which I can't wait to try out. Get all my servings of fruit and veggies in one glass. I am not brave enough to try the all veggie juices but maybe one day!
Here's to hoping I stick with it!!

To blog or not to blog

Blogging has seemed to have lost its excitement. Most blogs have either gone private (which no offense to those that are, but its annoying!), or people (like me) have lost their enthusiasm and never blog. After talking with my friend KC, we decided that we miss it, reading other peoples and writing about our random daily doings and thoughts.
So I have decided to get back on the blogging bandwagon and document my life. I no longer consider my life to be very exciting, and maybe it never was, but I don't really think I have that many followers left, so who really cares if you find me boring or don't think I am as witty as I find myself to be. This Blog is for me, and one day I may want to look back and laugh at all the pointless events I found so thrilling or blog worthy. So here I go...making another attempt at blogging, and hopefully I'll stick with it!

Just a little humor

Coconut oil

I keep hearing all this stuff about how coconut oil is so good for you. I use it in recipes that call for it but have never really spent the time to try it for its health benefits. My roommate even eats a spoonful a day (not sure why) but she swears that its good for you. My face has been acting up lately and I look like a teenager with all the zits on my face (why am I admitting this to the online world?! How embarrassing!) so after reading many positive posts I started washing my face with coconut oil. Seems weird to wash your face with oil and while it has only been a few days, I LOVE it!!! My face is smoother and my skin tone is more even. The most surprising thing is my face use to get oily and shiny by mid day and I would have to reapply powder just to get rid of the shine, well, there is no shine! I couldnt be happier. We will have to see if it lasts and if the zits really go away, but as of now I am sold!
